Heads-Up Display

While we're all waiting for the DVD's from the factory, we thought you'd like to see what the HUD...err...menus look like on THE COMPLETE STEVE CANYON ON TV Volume One, so...

"Operation Jettison" Chapter menu

One thing we also want to point out (that is just so cool!) is how nice these shows look now. We've been using the original non-restored versions of these shows for general use for the last year or so, and it's great now to finally unleash the cleaned up versions for EVERYONE to see. Here are a few frame blowups from one of our favorite episodes, "Operation Jettison" (it's on disc one!):

"Operation Jettison" frame blowup, from left, Michael Galloway, Sue Randall and Dean Fredericks. Notice you can even read the words "Lockheed Hercules" on the rear of the plane. This scene was shot at Van Nuys Airport.

"Operation Jettison" frame blowup of an F-102 Delta Dagger taking off to get in on the aerial action in the episode...most likely shot at George AFB, California. I Love this plane!

"Operation Jettison" frame blowup of Tige Andrews inside the very real C-130 Hercules...you can even read the words on his life-vest! He played the second EVER Klingon "Kras" in the original Star Trek episode "Friday's Child". Like Steve Canyon's star Dean Fredericks, Tige too was wounded serving in the US Army during WWII.

"Operation Jettison" frame blowup of "Radar Major" (DeForest Kelley, right) and F-102 pilot Lt. Evans (John Ward, left)...Kelley of course everyone knows as Star Trek's doctor McCoy, Evans played the obnoxious "Detective Foley" years later on Baretta.

"Operation Jettison" frame blowup of Sue Randall and lucky guy Michael Galloway! Sue is (of course) best known as school teacher "Miss Landers" on "Leave It To Beaver", and Galloway was featured several years later as "Lt. Russ MacDonald" on the "Blue Angels" TV series! That's another one I know we'd all like to see again...

I think we're just as excited as everyone we've heard from over the last few weeks, and we can't wait to ship out all of your pre-orders next week, with these brand new DVDs hot off the factory presses! Stay tuned for more up to the minute news RIGHT HERE on this channel!

And if you haven't done so yet... below you can order yours today!

I finally stopped procrastinating and ordered my Volume 1 DVD today. Can't wait to see these shows again! Watching Steve Canyon on TV in the 50s made me want to become a pilot.

Didn't get to the Air Force, but did fly AH-1G Cobra attack helicopters as an Army Aviator in Vietnam.

Thanks to all involved who made this happen! We've been waiting a long time. You folks, to use the current Air Force motto, are "Above All!"
Very Respectfully,
Mike Borland, MAJ (Ret.), Aviation, US Army

Regarding the F-102A shown taking off in "Operation Jettison," it is Tail Number 57-812, assigned to the 329th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at George AFB.

This information comes from "Forgotten Jets", http://www.geocities.com/forgottenjets/F-102homepage.html

The webmaster has chronicled the operational assignments of EVERY F-102 produced, as well as information on other Fifties fighters and two WWII fighters.
